Do you know what you eat?

Do you know what you eat?  Do you know what you are putting in your body.  My Mom taught me “you are what you eat.”  If Mom was right (and I bet she was) then doesn’t it make sense that I should know what I am eating?  Most people I meet don’t look at food the right way and if we truly want to transform our bodies and our lives then it’s time we start changing the way we look at what we are putting in our bodies (food, drink, additives, preservatives, prescriptions etc).

Food = Fuel

That’s it.  Pretty simple.  If we see food as fuel we find it a lot easier to make proper eating decisions.  You wouldn’t put donuts and coffee in your gas tank because your car won’t run on it.  Your engine would knock and sputter and fuel economy would drop tremendously.  Sounds ridiculous, but the truth is a lot of people start their days by filling their bodies with this type of “food.”  I am sure you have seen this on the wall in our consultation room but I think it’s a great reminder so I will repeat it hear.

Good In – Bad Out Time

I try to keep concepts simple so we can apply them long term.  If Food = Fuel and we put more Good Food In and we take more Bad Food Out and we do this consistently over a lifeTime then the only outcome is a stronger healthier body, mind and spirit.  Use the attached food diary to help determine where you may need to make changes.  The one thing that is not listed on this form is a place for drugs.  Be sure to list all of the prescriptions as well as over the counter drugs you take as we know that as FUEL they all without exception are toxic to the liver as well as on a cellular level.
